Wait, WTF Is This Newsletter?
That's right: K.I.S.S. has been officially rebranded.
I know what you’re thinking: “I definitely don’t remember subscribing to a newsletter from a 20-something freelancer moaning about her money flops.”
But before you hit that unsubscribe button, let me make my case!
I think you’ll find that The First-Gen Finance Diaries will be even more useful for you than my old newsletter. That is, if you’re interested in the following:
Creating a freelance business on the budget of a first-gen student/fresh grad/chick who is self-teaching her way to success.
Understanding the intricacies of personal finance, from budgeting to investing to figuring out how tf taxes actually work.
Celebrating money wins, fails, and in-betweens while learning from my unglamorous mistakes.
If you aren’t interested in those things, touché. We are at an impasse.
But, if they do sound like your cup of tea, I encourage you to stick around.
After all, we’re solopreneurs, right? We have more money problems than the VAST majority of the population. (Go, us!)
As usual, new editions drop every week.
Hope to see you there!

This Week’s Budget-Friendly Find:
Every week, I’ll share a resource or product that’s easy on the pockets (or, ideally, free) to help you guys on your entrepreneurship journey.
This woman’s ENTIRE CHANNEL is packed to the brim with insanely helpful ideas and resources. The best part is that she’s a small creator, so her upfront value is insane compared to the small pool of people reaping it.
In this particular video, she talks about seven underrated ways to make money online. To be candid with you—these are actually good ideas. It’s not that dropshipping nonsense or the same affiliate advice you’ve heard 500 times.
She had another video discussing strategically using Pinterest for market research and product ideas. GENIUS! I was honestly so floored that I had never thought of that before.
TLDR: I’m her new biggest fan, and you’ll be, too.
This Week’s Money Wins & Fails:
Wins:
I finally caved and bought in BeeHiiv premium, which was long overdue. I figured, I’m already rebranding my whole newsletter, I might as well invest in it, right?
It’s a new month, so I planned my November budget using my budget template. I wish it was “mine” so I could make some coin from it LOL, but it really belongs to MeghanMakesMoney. (Here’s the link if you’re in the market for one!)
Fails:
Unfortunately, this month is projected to be one of my lowest-earning months this year. But, I’m thinking of it as half-good, half-bad because this gives me plenty of time to work on my business.
I moved the majority of my Chase points to an airline without realizing that my Bilt card was running a transfer promotion of a whopping 50% to the exact same airline. Needless to say, I wanted to kick something. C’est la vie!
